"Glass is Frozen Music"

Similar as with music, a glass artist composes and produces from premature ideas the birth of a glass art object. With trial and error and the continuous search to solutions, he or she succeeds at the end to shape the hot shapeless glass mass, into a blown piece of art.

A glass blowing process that occurs in a very short time period, and what needs years of learning and experience. A learning process that never stops.

It is a moment that the world around you disappears and where you only have an eye for your piece of art.

It gives satisfaction and the drive to more. It is a passion that I cannot miss anymore ...

My glass blowing work is inspired on Italian glass art. The design of the shape, the colors and the ratio's between the individual components. Both the functional and sculptural work share many similarities in process and development. I feel that the growth of the work is the most fascinating part of the artistic process and it is what makes me excited to go back in the studio to create.
